A gravel ride from Heilbron to the Vaal River confluence in the northern Free State. The route descends from the Highveld plateau on farm roads to the Vaal River gorge — a dramatic geological feature rarely visited by cyclists. Cattle farms, wheat fields and sunflower crops line the route. The Vaal River crossing at Windsorton and the rocky riverbank make this a rewarding gravel adventure in a little-known part of the Free State.
