About this Route

A classic Pretoria road loop heading north-east through Pienaarspoort Pass and looping the Roodeplaat Dam. The Pienaarspoort gorge section cuts through the Magaliesberg quartzite ridges in a dramatic narrow pass above the Pienaars River. The route continues to Roodeplaat Dam — Pretoria's main water supply — before returning via the R513. Rocky gorge scenery and open bushveld make this one of Pretoria's finest road rides.
