About this Route

A scenic gravel meander through the Magaliesberg valley floor — the fertile agricultural belt between the ancient quartzite ridges. The route links farm roads past lavender farms, olive groves, wedding venues and country estates between Magaliesberg village, Hekpoort and the Scheerpoort valley. The Magaliesberg range towers 500 m above the valley on both north and south flanks. Outstanding birding and Highveld bushveld character throughout.
