The classic Hartbeespoort Dam road loop based at Schoemansville — the Joburg and Pretoria weekend cycling escape. The route circles the dam via the R512, Schoemansville, Ifafi and Kosmos, incorporating the famous Schoemansville climb on the north shore and the fast sweep through Melodie and Broederstroom on the return. The Harties gondola, elephant sanctuary and cable car are landmarks on the route. One of Gauteng and NW's most ridden road loops.
