Bikes for every kind of rider

You'll find listings organised by the way people actually ride: mountain bikes, road, gravel and e-bikes, plus parts and gear. Used e-bikes have their own section covering electric mountain, gravel, road and city bikes, because buying one second-hand comes with its own questions, like battery health and how far it's been ridden.

If you're new to riding, welcome. You don't need to know your groupsets from your gear ratios to find a good bike. Browse by category, set your budget in rand, and filter by province and city, or use Near Me to see bikes within a distance you choose.

How selling works

  1. Create a free account and tap + Sell.
  2. Add good photos and an honest description. Show the drive side, the cockpit and any wear. For an e-bike, a photo of the display showing the kilometres goes a long way.
  3. Set your price and your location, so local riders can find you.
  4. Publish your listing. Our team reviews new listings shortly after they go up. Once yours is approved, buyers can message you, and Buy now switches on.

There's no listing fee. CrankMart does not charge any commission on escrow payments. If a buyer pays with Buy now, TradeSafe takes its escrow fee from your payout.

How buying works

  1. Browse or search the listings, and filter by bike type, brand, condition, price and location.
  2. Open a listing to see the photos, price and condition.
  3. Message the seller through CrankMart. Ask for extra photos or service history. Keeping your chat on CrankMart means everything stays in one place.
  4. Choose how to pay.
    • Buy now with TradeSafe escrow. Where a listing has a Buy now button, you pay through TradeSafe, an independent escrow service. TradeSafe holds your money until you have the bike. The seller is paid once you accept it, or automatically when TradeSafe's inspection window ends if you haven't raised an issue. There's no buyer fee: you pay the listed price, plus shipping if you choose delivery.
    • Meet in person. If there's no Buy now button, arrange to meet somewhere public and see the bike before any money changes hands.

Something not right with a Buy now order? Raise it before the money moves, using the link in TradeSafe's email or by emailing support@crankmart.com, and we'll ask TradeSafe to hold the payment while it's sorted out.

Local bike shops, all in one place

CrankMart also has a directory of cycling businesses across South Africa: bike shops, mechanics, brands, coaches, clubs and more. Each shop page shows its location, contact details and the brands or services on offer.

If you run a shop, a standard directory listing is free. Your shop may already have a page; if it does, you can claim it to manage your details and respond to customers.

More than a marketplace

  • Events: races, tours, fun rides and social rides across the country. Organising one? You can submit it.
  • Routes: road, MTB, gravel and urban routes shared by the community. Know a great ride? Add it.
  • News: cycling news, gear and industry stories, plus articles from riders. Use Submit Article on the News page to share yours.
